Explore Your Rebate Options
You can receive a rebate of $100 per window or door, up to a maximum of $2,000, when you opt for windows/doors with a U-Factor of 1.22 (W/m²-K) or less* (Tier 2).
(*U-Factor measures a window’s heat flow resistance – lower rating means better insulation.)
Eligibility:
Once you’ve confirmed your home’s eligibility, ensure your upgrade qualifies by reviewing the following criteria:
- Certification: Your chosen windows and doors must be listed by recognized bodies like CSA, Intertek, and more.
- Vancouver Exception: Homes within the City of Vancouver boundary are exempt from Tier 2 rebates.
- Efficiency Standard: To be eligible for the Tier 2 rebate, windows and doors must have a maximum U-Factor of 1.22 (W/m²-K).
- Skylights Excluded: Skylights are not covered by this rebate.
Installation:
For your upgrade to qualify:
- Location Matters: New windows and doors must replace existing ones between unheated and heated spaces.
- Counting ROs: The number of eligible windows/doors depends on rough openings (ROs) – each counts as one.
- Quality Assurance: All installations must be done by licensed contractors with GST numbers and valid B.C. business licenses.
- No Self-Installations: Self-installations are not eligible.
Claiming Your Rebate
Submit your rebate application and supporting documents within six months of the invoice date. Required documents include the invoice and photos of manufacturer labels for each installed window/door.
